Salina Leos Club organized

            The local Leos Club is sponsored by the Salina Lions Club and is also affiliated with Lions Clubs International.  There are more than 5,700 Leos Clubs in 140 countries.  The Salina Leos Club has a mentor and advisor from the Salina Lions Club.

            The goals of the Leos Clubs are to promote interest in community service and develop leadership skills, social skills, and organizational skills.

            It is hoped that through the Leos Club the members can have fun, make new friends, and serve the community.  Also, students can discover how teamwork and cooperation can bring changes to the community.  Some projects that have been done by other Leos clubs are: collecting clothing for children in need, repairing playgrounds, visiting children in hospitals, and raising funds for the homeless.

            Youth ages 11-18 are eligible for membership in the Leos Clubs, and it is hoped that membership in the local club will grow and reap the rewards of community service.  Inquires concerning the local club can be referred to the following numbers: 435-201-0825, 435-893-5395 or 529-2279.  The local Leos Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Salina Lions Club Den at 640 East Main in Salina.
